How to Use the Vye Email Editor

The Vye Email Editor is a user-friendly, drag-and-drop tool designed to help you create stunning email templates effortlessly. Powered by the Unlayer Email Editor, this guide will walk you through every step of building and customizing email templates for your store.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Email Templates Section

  • Log in to your Shopify Admin.
  • From the Shopify Admin dashboard, navigate to the Apps section.
  • Click on Vye to open the app’s dashboard.
  • In the left navigation pane, click on the Email Templates section.
  • Choose an existing template to edit, or click on Create Template to create a new one.

2. Familiarize Yourself with the Email Editor Layout

The editor consists of the following key sections:

  • Email Canvas: This is the main area where you will build and customize your email content. You can drag and drop elements here or edit existing elements directly.
  • Right Panel (Toolbox): On the right, you’ll find the toolbox containing elements you can use. These are divided into 3 categories: Content, Blocks, and Body.

3. Adding and Editing Email Content

  • Drag and Drop: Select an element from the right panel and drag it into the email canvas. You can choose from various content types like Heading, Text, Button, and more.
  • Customize Element: Click any element in the email canvas to open its settings in the right panel. Customize text, colors, styles, and other properties.

4. Adding Dynamic Content

Dynamic content allows you to personalize your email templates. When creating emails, the placeholders will be replaced with specific data. Here are the dynamic placeholders you can use:

  • Product Title: To add a matched product’s title, use the placeholder {{title}}. You can target multiple products by adding a number: {{title#1}}, {{title#2}}, etc.
  • Product Price: To add the price of a product, use the placeholder {{price}}. Add a number to target different products: {{price#1}}, {{price#2}}, etc.
  • Product Description: Use the placeholder {{description}} to add a product’s description. You can similarly target multiple products.
  • Product Image: To include an image of a product, use a placeholder image URL: https://sage-apps.com/product-image-placeholder.png. For multiple images, add a number to the URL: https://sage-apps.com/product-image-placeholder.png#1, https://sage-apps.com/product-image-placeholder.png#2, etc.
  • Unsubscribe Link: To include an unsubscribe link, use the placeholder URL https://vye-unsubscribe.com.

Tip: Explore the existing Vye templates to see examples of dynamic content usage. You can preview the template either in your browser or send a test email to ensure the dynamic content is being generated correctly.

5. Save Your Template

Once you’re satisfied with your email design, click Save to preserve your progress. Give your template a name and choose the maximum number of products to display in the email. Then, click Confirm to save the template.

6. Preview and Test Your Email

Before sending out the email, it’s crucial to preview and test it to ensure everything looks perfect.

  • Click the View button at the top right of the editor.
  • Choose the number of products to display in the template.
  • Click on View to preview the email in your browser, or enter an email address to send a test email.

Troubleshooting

  • Disabled "View" Button: The template must be saved before the preview button becomes active.
  • Cannot Save Template - Image Issue: To prevent broken image links, avoid uploading images directly into the editor. Instead, upload images to Shopify and add the image URL in the template.
